Our Name

Our name was inspired by the most crucial ingredient to cooking – salt. A commodity deeply ingrained in Texas history, salt brought work to the American coastline as far back as the 1800s. This no doubt inspired camaraderie amongst the traders of salt and those who fish, as each held crucial ingredients to the night’s meal.

Salt Traders Zilker
Opening Soon

We are thrilled  to announce a second location opening in 2019 in the Barton Oaks Plaza in Austin’s Zilker neighborhood. Consistent with the Round Rock location, Jack Gilmore and Chef Chris Ten Eyck will ensure the new Salt Traders will align with the best seafood vendors from coast to coast, with the freshest seafood always on hand. Beverage Director David Toby will feature coastal inspired beverages, including twists on classic cocktails, seafood friendly wines and beer that will be fitting in the bright, coastal space.
